4.1 How to create/open a D Drive?

CAUTION: Please BACKUP before making any changes to your hard drive partition

Step 1: Press ‘Win + X’ and select "Disk Management" to open the Disk Management utility.

Step 2: Locate your C drive, right-click, select "Shrink Volume".

Step 3: Specify the amount of space in MB you want to allocate for your D drive.

The screenshot shows 30GB, 30,000MB was allocate from C -> D drive.

Step 4: Right-click on the unallocated space, and click on "New Simple Volume".

Step 5: Click “Next >”

Step 6: Assign a drive letter (such as D) and format the new partition with a file system (typically NTFS).

Step 7: Complete the wizard, and your new D drive will be created.

4.2 Error: Invalid Path

Error: “Invalid path is prompted, please use the correct path to install.”

4.2.1 Reason for prompt

It is because Drive D does not exist.

4.2.2 Solution

Check if it's possible to create a D: drive as when using Instances on a Cloud Server, there may be limitations in creating a new drive depending on the provider e.g.: Tecent.

If possible, the creation of a D: drive is strongly recommended as C drive will have permission issues.

Option 1: Yes, a new drive can be crested.

Please refer to FAQ 3.1 to open alternative drive.

Option 2: Not possible to create a new drive

Change the path from D:\e-office_server_11.0\ to C:\e-office_server_11.0, click on [Installation] to proceed

4.3 Error: Existing e-office

Error: “You have already installed e-office, please uninstall it first and then re-install it.”

4.3.1 Reason for prompt:

The error was prompted because an e-Office program was detected in the folder.

Note: Please exercise the solution with caution to proceed as this will result in the erasure of all data.

4.3.2 Solution:

Step 1: Open Service Management Platform, click on “Disable all” to stop all service.

Step 2: Go to Task Manager > Service and make sure all e-office services are stopped.

Step 3: Click show hidden icon on the taskbar and find Server Management Platform, right-click and press “Quit”.

Step 4: Go to Settings > Apps & features > Search for e-office and click on “Uninstall”.

4.4 Error: Selected directory is not empty

Error: “The selected installation directory is not empty, please select an empty directory!”

4.4.1 Reason for prompt

The path is set as the root directory of a certain drive or in a secondary directory or the file path already exists, such as: D:\, D:\software, E:\software\oa.

The folder “e-office_server_11.0” has already exists under the D: drive

Note: A folder creation is unnecessary as the installer will automatically create the folder when installing.

4.4.2 Solution

Step 1: Go to the file path and delete the folder

Step 2: Copy and past the file path to re-register the path

Step 3: Continue with the installation
